Another Good Day at the Doctor

Hello Everyone~

Well, I am now 29 weeks pregnant. I can't believe she will be here in about 11 weeks!!! I am so excited to meet our little girl, but I know she needs to "cook" a little while longer :)

We went to the doctor yesterday. I had my blood sugar test done, but we won't know the results until early next week. Hopefully everything looks good! We had another ultrasound done and once again she was being pretty stubborn. Something neat did happen though... When the ultrasound tech was measuring my cervical length, she had me push on my stomach, and I felt something hard right under my right hand. I asked her what that might be and she said it was probably her head. I thought this was crazy because she had been in the vertex/head down position at every other visit, so there was no way her head could be up by my ribs... however, it sure was! So, Lorali Claire started the ultrasound in the transverse position, then as the exam progressed she moved into the full breech position, then she moved in the transverse position on the other side. Needless to say, she is one busy baby! It was really neat though to actually feel her through my skin, and not just feel her kicking me from the inside. The ultrasound tech did all of her measurements and everything looked great! She is measuring right on schedule and has plenty of amniotic fluid surrounding her. Her heart rate was 137, so it's slowing down just a little, but I think that is supposed to happen. They estimate her weight at 2 pounds and 13 ounces! I have posted a profile picture from the ultrasound below, but you can't really see a whole lot.

We got to talk to our doctor about a few important details. She gave me a kick count sheet to keep track of her movements and we talked a little bit about some birth plan options. One of the big things Will and I need to figure out over the next few weeks is who our pediatrician is going to be. I guess that will involve some phone calls to the insurance companies and doctors offices.

We are one step closer in getting the house ready for her to come home in a couple months. Last week a friend of ours came and painted the nursery for us. And earlier this week a friend of ours and I put up the wall border. I think it looks really cute and I'm really anxious to get everything set up and organized. I have posted some pictures of the nursery (at this point) at the bottom of the blog.

We were in Ohio last weekend for the 4th of July. We went to my family reunion on Saturday which was a lot of fun and we had our shower at my mom's on Sunday. Will went fishing with Katie's boyfriend (who is a professional fisherman) during the shower and he had a blast! I think he said he caught 8 fish total for the day. He caught his first walleye and didn't realize they had pretty sharp teeth, and when he went to remove the hook he got a nice surprise! lol

Well, overall everything is moving along as smoothly as possible. I have been working hard this week getting the house cleaned up for our company we are having. It should be a really fun weekend! Several of our friends from Birmingham and Nashville are coming up to visit as one last hoorah before Lorali gets here. I'm also starting to get some things together for work... I can't believe classes start back in about 5 weeks! I am also studying to take my certification exam to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, so needless to say, I am pretty busy these days!

I suppose that's it for now... we go back to the doctor in 2 weeks for a check up, so I should have more info at that point!!! Keep us posted on what's going on in your lives... Hope this finds everyone well!!!

Love,
Ahleasha, Will, and Lorali
