She's Getting So Big!!!

Hello Again Everyone~

Well, our little Lorali has had several big things happen over the past few weeks. The day after her 4-month birthday she rolled over from her tummy to her back. Then, one week later, she rolled over from her back to her tummy. So now we have to be very careful where we put her because we never know where she is going to end up!!! I put her to sleep last night and when we woke up this morning her head was at the opposite end of the bed!

She is starting to reach for all kinds of objects. I almost lost my dinner plate tonight because she was reaching for my tatar tots :) She is starting to play with her toys also. Sometimes "playing" consists of just grabbing things and putting them in her mouth, but she is at least entertaining herself.

Her little personality is starting to shine and gets bigger everyday. She can make some pretty pitiful faces when she gets upset but she also has such an infectious smile. We have figured out that she is pretty ticklish and has the most adorable little giggle. I swear sometimes it still brings tears to my eyes when I hear her laughing and see her smiling. Here is a picture of one of her pitiful little faces... she really likes to pout that lower lip out.
We got some pictures taken of her a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately she was really crabby when we got there because we had been out shopping and she didn't take a nap. So, we didn't get a whole lot of good pictures and we didn't get the family shots we wanted, but oh well. Here are a couple of our favorites...

I took her to the doctor last week for her 4-month check-up. She weighed 13 pounds 7 ounces which puts her in the 50th percentile. Her length was in the 50th percentile also and her head circumference was between the 50th and 75th percentiles (looks like she may have her mommy's melon head, lol). Dr. Stallworth said that she is perfect and growing and developing just like she is supposed to. She got her second round of shots also and handled them very well. I think it's more traumatizing for the parents than it is for the babies.

We have also tried giving her cereal a few times. The first couple times it was a pretty good battle between me or Will with the spoon and her thumb. We had to be super quick once we pulled her thumb out of her mouth to get the spoon in. She didn't take the spoon very well the first couple times so we took a few days off. I tried again last night and she did much better. We still make a mess, but she at least opens her mouth a little bit and I'm not fighting her over her thumb. Here is a picture from her first cereal feeding...

I'm sure there are some other things I need to put on here but it's late and I need to get to bed (even though my classes actually got cancelled for tomorrow thanks to the surprise snow storm we got yesterday and today!!!). I hope this finds all of you well. Keep checking back for more updates and keep up posted on what's going on with you!

Love,

Will, Ahleasha, and Lorali
